Founded in 1993, with roots dating back to 1975 as Austin Community Gardens, Sustainable Food Center (SFC) is involved in every step of our local, Central Texas, food system.

With our new mission to cultivate a just and regenerative food system so people and the environment can thrive, SFC is laying the groundwork for our next phase as an organization.

Organization: Sustainable Food Center (SFC) is a community-based organization that cultivates a healthy food community by strengthening the local food system and improving access to affordable, nutritious food. From seed to table, SFC creates opportunities for individuals to make healthy food choices and to participate in a vibrant local food system.

Job Description: SFC is seeking an hourly bilingual Food Access Associate to work on-site at SFC Farmers’ Markets on Food Access programming, including Double Up Food Bucks, WIC, SNAP and FMNP programs. Duties will include interacting with clients to conduct and record transactions and providing information to clients about using their benefits at farmers’ markets.

Availability to work on Saturday mornings from 8:30am – 1:00pm is required. Current opportunities will be on a biweekly basis (every other Saturday). Additional opportunities may be available at a later date. Starting pay for this position is $16.79/Hour.
