Sustainable Food Center (SFC) is a community-based, nonprofit organization cultivating a healthy community by strengthening the local food system and improving access to affordable, nutritious food. From seed to table, SFC creates opportunities for individuals to make healthy food choices and to participate in a vibrant local food system.

Job Openings

SFC is seeking a creative, hard-working individual who is knowledgeable about gardening education and fully bilingual (English-Spanish) to coordinate SFC’s Grow Local adult gardening classes and Spread the Harvest gardening resource giveaway project.

Success in this position will include coordination of fully-enrolled gardening classes that engage SFC’s target population; development of robust relationships with existing and new community partner class host sites; recruitment of additional Spanish-speaking Grow Local facilitators (class instructors); and coordination of the Spread the Harvest project, which benefits diverse low-income participants and schools.


Hours: Part Time, 8 hours per Saturday

Spend the morning outside eating delicious food, engaging in conversation with your neighbors, and help farmers and ranchers make a living. It is also an immense responsibility: without the farmers market, dozens of ranchers, farmers and local businesses would go under, and tens of thousands of our neighbors would lose the place where they get food and build community
