A Letter From Our New Executive Director, Mark Bethell

It is hard to believe that I have been the Executive Director of this amazing organization for over two months now. Time is flying by. I am filling some very big shoes left by my predecessor, Ronda Rutledge. Many of you know her personally and share my appreciation of the leadership she selflessly gave to SFC over the last 15 years. No one can argue she played a pivotal role in making this the great organization it is today.

As a former Executive Director and CEO of health service organizations, I have been acutely aware of the impact food has on our physical health and mental wellbeing. I am also aware of how hard it is for people living at or below the poverty line in this country to have access to healthy food. As a servant leader, my passion for making a community healthier is perfectly aligned with the mission and vision of SFC. I am honored the Board of Directors has given me the opportunity to take the helm of this wonderful organization and lead a terrific team of people toward our future goals of increasing the consumption of regionally and sustainably produced food in Central Texas.

I cannot think of more important work I want to be a part of than improving our food system to benefit the health and wellness of all people living in Central Texas.

I look forward to working alongside you in this work.

Collaboratively,
