Do you know any kids ages 5-9 who are looking for some fun this summer? Send them to camp with us!
SFC and our neighbors, Creative Action, are co-hosting a full week of summer camp from August 3-7, 9 AM to 4:30 PM.
Camp will include all the art, drama, and imagination of a Creative Action camp, plus lots of time in the kitchen and garden to experience how food gets from the farm or garden to our plates. Campers will bring their own lunches and snacks, but will have multiple opportunities to prepare their own healthy recipes and sample fresh produce from the garden and farmers’ market. Camp will include a farmers’ market tour on Tuesday, and will wrap up with a Friday afternoon presentation of everything campers have learned.
This camp would be a great fit for kids who already love to cook or garden, or who might need to spend some time with the plants to see that food starts in the ground, and not at the grocery store. Camp is $275 for the week, with scholarships available.
For more information or to sign up, visit Creative Action’s camp page and find the camp listing under the “East” tab: http://creativeaction.org/programs/camps/summer-camps/
