Small to mid-sized farms have unique needs. To grow more food for Central Texas, these farmers and ranchers need tailored solutions to common problems.

Most traditional agriculture education and services do not apply to small and mid-sized farms that grow a wide variety of crops. The USDA defines most fruits and vegetables as “specialty crops” and devotes most of their funding and support to commodity growers, like corn and soybeans. This leaves a large gap in support for small and mid-sized farms.
