Farmers’ Market Associate
SFC is seeking one part-time Farmers’ Market Associate to ensure the successful setup and operations of SFC’s weekly Saturday markets.

This is a part-time position at 7-10 hours per week. Saturdays Only. Start as early as 6:00am, end as late as 4:00pm. Rain or shine.
FM Associates will oversee the daily operations of our two weekly farmers’ markets. As a part of the market operations team, you will oversee setting up and running the market with minimal supervision – you will be asked to take responsibility for maintaining equipment, collecting fees, providing customer service, assisting vendors, preparing samples, and distributing benefits. Additional tasks include providing feedback from a market day to the FM Operations and Programming Managers, so you will need to know and advocate for what our vendors and customers want! Positions require standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, and climbing – all outdoors in any kind of weather. Positions require ability to operate a motor vehicle, including a box truck.
Training will be provided on safe equipment operation, trauma informed care, de-escalation tactics, and day-of market operations management.
- Safely lead set up and breakdown of all equipment at SFC Farmers’ Markets
- Resolve issues and troubleshoot problems for vendors, help with load-in and other tasks during market hours
- Conduct and record transactions for food access clientele at the Double Up Food Bucks booth
- Answer questions about SFC and the market to a wide variety of customers
- Prepare and distribute food samples while maintaining food safety protocols
- Provide consistent and robust feedback to Operations and Programming Managers

Pay starts at $19.20 per hour.
- Regular and reliable availability on Saturdays
- Bilingual and biliterate (English/Spanish) required
- Current Driver’s License and a clean driving record required
- Able to safely lift 40+ pounds required
- Strong customer service skills and desire to work within diverse communities
- Reliable transportation to work sites
- 16+ years of age
- Current Food Handler Certificate (or ability to obtain certification in 14 days after hire)
- Able to interact with vendors and customers in a positive and professional manner
- Experience working on a diverse team
