Sayuri Yamanaka I was born in Mexico, I have a master degree in Environmental Sciences and I have participated as a Community Organizer for urban farms since 2013. This is my second year working at SFC in on the Food Access team.
My main work is to engage Central Texas families to promote local seasonal food with culturally-appropriate strategies. I also design trainings to help community members to gain additional communication/outreach skills. I am an active member of the language access team in Central Texas and equity team at SFC.
I am responsible for producing bilingual materials that address Food Access as well as lead social media communications campaigns for Spanish speakers that integrates an ambassador model.
