Volunteers are what make Sustainable Food Center so successful! Every year, SFC relies on the energy and time of hundreds of volunteers to keep our programs going. Without their devotion, SFC would not be able to help more than 350,000 Central Texans access healthy, affordable, locally-grown food annually.
All new volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation, pay a $10 administration fee, and complete a criminal background check. See our upcoming orientation dates below.
SFC offers group volunteer opportunities in one of SFC's on site gardens. Groups will not go through a formal orientation, but will be trained on-site. SFC accepts groups of up to 30 volunteers. A typical work day will be on a weekday from 9-12pm. SFC also requests a $5 per person suggested donation to help cover the cost of materials. Please note project dates fill up quickly and must be scheduled well in advance of desired dates.more
